Tree Distribution Recap

200 more trees were distributed for planting in the Central Queens neighborhoods - Jackson Heights, Elmhurst and Corona - over the first weekend this May!

  • On Friday, May 1st, our project team distributed 61 trees at Travers Park in Jackson Heights from 1pm - 5pm.

  • On Saturday, May 2nd, another 75 trees were distributed at Moore Homestead Playground in Elmhurst from 10am - 2pm.

  • On Sunday, May 3rd, our project team distributed the final 64 trees at Park of the Americas in Corona from 10am - 2pm.

Our next tree distribution will be this fall. Join our mailing list for announcements!

Join our project team on Saturday, May 16th from 10am - 12pm to plant street trees in Elmhurst!


Volunteers will plant a street tree in Elmhurst! And be trained in proper planting techniques to feel comfortable and confident to plant your new tree!

Spring 2026 Tree Distributions

This May, we distributed 200 trees to the public of Central Queens to plant outside NYC Parks jurisdiction in yards, on school grounds, on church grounds and in gardens.

We distributed species including:

  1. American Hornbeam (Carpinus caroliniana)

  2. Enterprise Apple (Malus domestica 'Enterprise')

  3. Black Gum (Nyssa sylvatica)

  4. Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis

  5. Jujube (Ziziphus jujuba)

  6. Pawpaw (Asiminia triloba)

  7. White Peach (Prunus persica 'Snow Giant')

  8. Asian Pear 'Shinseiki' (Pyrus pyrifolia 'Shinseiki')

  9. Persimmon 'Fuyu' (Diospyros kaki 'Fuyu')

  10. Plum (Prunus 'Stanley')

In October, we distributed 200 trees to the public of Central Queens to plant outside NYC Parks jurisdiction in yards and gardens.
